🕊️ A YOUNG LIFE GONE FAR TOO SOON. 🕊️
With hearts heavy beyond words, we remember 12-year-old Hunter Combs, a precious young soul whose life was tragically cut short following a heartbreaking pedestrian accident in South Charleston on Monday night.
Hunter was only twelve years old—a child with so much life still waiting to unfold. There should have been countless more birthdays, laughter shared with family and friends, school memories, dreams to chase, and beautiful moments yet to be written. Instead, those who loved him are left with memories, photographs, and a silence that can never truly replace his presence.
According to South Charleston Police, Hunter was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue, also known as U.S. 60, and Rock Lake Drive. He was taken to a local hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he sadly passed away. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and have reviewed surveillance video as part of their investigation.
His passing has also touched the school community. Kanawha County Schools announced that grief counselors would be available to support students as they cope with the devastating news.
There are no perfect words for the loss of a child. A young life like Hunter’s should have had so many more chapters. Yet even though his time here was heartbreakingly brief, his memory can remain eternal—in the hearts of his family, classmates, friends, teachers, and everyone who knew him.
May those who loved Hunter find strength in one another, comfort in cherished memories, and peace in knowing that his life mattered deeply.
