With hearts filled with sorrow and a silence that words can hardly express, we remember Erika May, 83, of Sturgeon Bay, whose life was tragically taken on Monday evening, September 21, 2026, in a heartbreaking pedestrian crash in the Town of Sevastopol.
Erika was crossing State Highway 57 near County Road P, making her way toward a nearby parking lot, when she was struck by a vehicle. She was taken to Door County Medical Center, where she sadly passed away from her injuries.
At 83 years old, Erika had lived through eight decades of memories, moments, challenges, joys, and countless chapters that made her life uniquely her own. Her passing leaves behind a space that cannot simply be filled—a quiet absence felt by those who knew her, loved her, and treasured the time they shared with her.
Sometimes, life changes in a single heartbreaking moment. One moment there are plans for tomorrow, familiar places to go, and ordinary moments to cherish. Then suddenly, everything becomes a memory.
