With profound sadness and hearts weighed down by grief, we remember Katie Harper, 41, of Bedias, Texas, and Gilbert Urbano Jr., 49, of San Antonio, Texas, whose lives were tragically cut short following a devastating collision on Monday morning, September 21, 2026, along FM 2620 near Texas 30.
There are moments when words simply cannot carry the weight of a loss. A life can disappear in an instant, leaving behind memories, photographs, unanswered questions, and hearts longing for one more conversation, one more smile, one more embrace.
Katie and Gilbert were more than names connected to a heartbreaking tragedy. They were people with lives, relationships, dreams, and memories that mattered. They were loved, they were known, and their presence meant something to the people fortunate enough to share their lives.
The crash also left others injured, including three children who were reportedly transported to a Houston hospital in critical condition, as well as another passenger who suffered serious injuries. As we remember Katie and Gilbert, we also hold the injured and their families close in our thoughts, hoping for healing, strength, and brighter days ahead.
Today, we mourn two lives that ended far too soon. Yet even when someone is gone, the love they left behind does not disappear. It lives in treasured memories, in stories shared by loved ones, and in the quiet moments when their presence is deeply missed.
