Three Precious Lives Gone Too Soon.
Some moments leave a silence so deep that words can never truly fill it. On September 19, 2026, a heartbreaking tragedy on Highway 42 in Coos County claimed three precious lives, leaving families, friends, and an entire community mourning an unimaginable loss.
Remembered among those taken too soon are James Edward Price, 32, of Myrtle Point; Genevieve Marie Huffaker, 20, of Coquille; and a beautiful 4-month-old baby girl whose life had only just begun.
James was pronounced deceased at the scene after the vehicle he was driving was struck head-on. Genevieve, a passenger, was transported to a hospital but sadly could not survive her injuries. The infant was taken to a Portland-area hospital, where she too passed away.
Three lives. Three stories. Three families forever changed.
A young life barely beginning, a young woman with dreams still ahead of her, and a man whose presence meant something deeply personal to those who loved him—all gone far too soon.
