A Life Remembered Beyond the Road.

With profound sadness, we remember James Jones, 55, of Newark, Ohio, whose life was tragically taken following a devastating multi-vehicle crash on State Route 37 near Blacks Road in Union Township. James was driving his Toyota Tundra when a chain-reaction collision unfolded during the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 16.

At approximately 6:34 a.m., five vehicles became involved in the heartbreaking crash. Amid the chaos, James’ vehicle was pushed into the northbound lane, where it was struck by a northbound Mack truck. Though he was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to Licking Memorial Hospital, his injuries were ultimately too severe, and he passed away.

James was more than a name in a tragic news report. He was a son, a loved one, a friend, and a familiar presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His absence now leaves behind a silence that words can never truly fill.

Three others suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while emergency responders from several agencies worked tirelessly at the scene.

As investigators continue to determine exactly what led to this heartbreaking collision, one thing remains certain: a life that mattered has been lost, and a family and community are left carrying a pain they never expected.

May the memories James created continue to shine through the darkness. May those who loved him find strength in the moments they shared, the laughter they remember, and the love that death cannot erase.

Rest peacefully, James Jones. Your journey on this earth may have ended far too soon, but your memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ’”
