Remembering David Northcutt After a Tragic Moore County Crash.

Joseph R. Curtis has been charged in connection with the tragic death of David Northcutt, 61, whose life was lost in a devastating head-on collision on Lost Creek Road in Moore County on September 11. A heartbreaking moment that began as an ordinary afternoon ended with a family receiving news no loved one should ever have to hear.

According to reports from the highway patrol, Curtis was allegedly driving a Ford Ranger recklessly shortly before the crash, passing several vehicles in a no-passing zone and crossing the double yellow line. During one of those passes, his vehicle collided head-on with Northcutt’s vehicle. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt, and Curtis was also injured in the collision.

But beyond the details of a crash report and the charges that followed, there was a human life behind David’s name. He was someone who mattered deeply—someone whose presence brought memories, conversations, love and meaning into the lives of others. His passing leaves behind an absence that words can never truly fill.

Today, we remember David not simply as the victim of a tragic collision, but as a cherished human being whose life deserved many more chapters. The road ahead for those who loved him will be marked by memories, tears and moments when his absence is felt most deeply.

Joseph R. Curtis faces a felony vehicular homicide charge related to the crash and is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on November 3.

May David Northcutt’s memory remain a light in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest peacefully, and may his loved ones find strength and comfort in the memories he left behind.

🕊️ In loving memory of David Northcutt. Gone from this world, but never forgotten.
