Today, we pause with heavy hearts to remember Henry Louis Wright Jr., 49, of Fairfield, Alabama, whose life came to a tragic and heartbreaking end Tuesday morning in Forestdale, Jefferson County.
According to authorities, the incident began around 9:30 a.m. when the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force attempted to take Henry into custody. Authorities said he had failed to appear in court in July in connection with charges of first-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping. During the law enforcement pursuit, Henry suffered a fatal self-inflicted injury. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reported that he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:50 a.m. in the 600 block of Kenwood Drive.
