Remembering Justice Mcray Boyette.
Some moments change everything. Some losses leave behind a silence that words can never truly fill. Today, we remember Justice Mcray Boyette, 31, of Winston-Salem, whose life was tragically cut short Monday morning in a devastating crash in Alexander County.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 10:03 a.m. on U.S. 64 near Adams Pond Road, east of Taylorsville. Justice was driving a tow truck westbound when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with an approaching tractor-trailer. The tow truck caught fire, and despite the tragic circumstances, Justice could not be saved. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Behind every headline is a human life—a person with dreams, memories, moments of laughter, and a future that should have continued unfolding. Justice’s story ended far too soon, leaving behind a reminder of how suddenly life can change and how precious every ordinary moment truly is.
The tractor-trailer driver, Crystal Sue Austin, 56, of Lenoir, was seriously injured and flown to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
As the road eventually reopened and the investigation continued, one family and a community were left facing a heartbreak that no words can easily describe.
May Justice’s memory remain a lasting light in the lives of those who knew him. May the memories he created never fade, and may his life be remembered not only for the tragedy that ended it, but for the person he was.
