Jeremiah Quantez McCrary — A Young Life Gone Too Soon.
Macon is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 21-year-old Jeremiah Quantez McCrary, whose life was tragically cut short on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, McCrary was shot while inside a vehicle in the 2300 block of Pio Nono Avenue at approximately 2:50 p.m. Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and immediately began rendering aid before firefighters and paramedics arrived.
Jeremiah was transported to Atrium Health Navicent, where, despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at 3:16 p.m.
He was only 21.
Behind that number was a young man with a future still unfolding, dreams still waiting to be realized, conversations still waiting to happen, and memories that will now become precious reminders of a life that mattered.
A sudden loss like this leaves behind a silence that words can rarely fill. For those who knew Jeremiah, the days ahead may bring moments when his name, his face, his voice, or a simple memory suddenly feels closer than ever. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
