A Life Remembered Beyond the Final Journey.
Mickey Del Woolsey, 61, of Fritch, Texas, tragically lost his life Saturday afternoon following a motorcycle crash on State Highway 136 in Hutchinson County. At approximately 2:46 p.m., Mickey was traveling east on SH 136 when a westbound pickup truck attempted to turn left onto Milner Road. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the pickup failed to yield the right of way and turned directly into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a devastating collision.
Mickey was transported to Golden Plains Community Hospital in Borger after suffering serious injuries in the crash. Despite the efforts made to save him, he later passed away, leaving behind a silence that no words can truly fill. His death is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an ordinary afternoon can become a moment of unimaginable sorrow.
Beyond the details of the crash and the investigation, there was a human life at the center of this tragedy—a man whose presence mattered, whose days carried meaning, and whose story deserved more chapters. Mickey’s journey may have ended far too soon, but the memory of his life will not simply disappear with the passing of time.
The Texas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. The pickup driver, Michael Duane Justice, 67, of Borger, was not injured.
Today, Mickey is remembered not for the accident that took him, but for the life he lived before that heartbreaking moment. May his memory remain a gentle light in the hearts of everyone who knew of him. May the roads he once traveled become a reminder of the preciousness of every journey, every sunrise, and every moment we are given.
Rest peacefully, Mickey Del Woolsey. Your journey may have ended, but your memory will continue to travel on—in stories, in photographs, and in the quiet spaces where those who remember you carry your name. 🕊️
