Some losses leave behind questions that seem impossible to answer, and some tragedies remind us just how fragile life can be. Today, we remember Marcus White, 52, whose life came to a heartbreaking end following a fatal stabbing near 61st Street and Campbell Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
At approximately 8:32 p.m., Chicago police officers responded to a report of a stabbing. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered Marcus lying on the sidewalk with 22 stab wounds to his body. He was rushed to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead. 💔🕯️
According to police, Marcus had reportedly been involved in an altercation with an unidentified individual inside an apartment before the stabbing occurred. The offender allegedly fled the scene, and as of the latest report, no suspect was in custody. Area detectives continue to investigate this heartbreaking case.
