A Sweet and Kind Soul Gone Far Too Soon. 🕊️💔
Some lives are far too precious to be taken so soon, and some goodbyes arrive before our hearts are anywhere near ready to say them. Today, we remember Iyanah Pryor, lovingly remembered by those closest to her as ✨Yaya✨, Prinxess Yanah—a beautiful 21-year-old mother whose life was filled with love, determination, promise, and dreams that were only beginning to unfold.
On a Tuesday morning in Milwaukee, Iyanah was walking toward a bus stop on her way to work when she was struck by a vehicle near 92nd and Hampton. Police were called shortly before 6 a.m., and sadly, Iyanah died at the scene. The driver remained at the scene, while authorities continued working to determine what led to the heartbreaking crash.
Iyanah had moved to Milwaukee nearly two years ago, carrying hopes for a brighter future. She was studying to become a CNA and, according to her friend Lashawnda Green, she was among the top of her class. She was building a future she could be proud of.
But above everything else, Iyanah was a devoted mother. Her precious 2-year-old daughter was her pride and joy—the little girl who came before everything else in her heart. She worked toward a better life not only for herself, but for the child she loved beyond words.
Those who knew her remember Yaya as the sweetest and kindest soul, someone who always wanted to help others and whose warmth touched the people around her. Her smile, her kindness, her determination, and most of all, her love for her daughter will forever remain part of the memories she leaves behind.
Now, a little girl must grow up carrying the memories of a mother who loved her completely. May she always know that she was her mother’s greatest joy and that Iyanah’s love for her was limitless.
