Bruce Gress, 42, of Toms River, New Jersey, was taken from this world far too soon, leaving behind a painful silence where a life, a presence, and countless memories once remained. His death has been linked to a fatal shooting, and Douglas Cobb, 51, of Toms River, has been charged with murder in connection with Bruce’s death.
Bruce’s final moments were marked by tragedy, but his life deserves to be remembered for so much more than the circumstances surrounding his passing. Behind his name was a human being who shared moments, created memories, and became part of the lives of others.
On Friday morning, Bruce was fatally shot at the Wawa near Route 37 and Garfield Avenue. He was later pronounced dead at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. In a moment that changed everything, a family and a community were left with a grief that cannot be measured.
