According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday to a crash near mile marker 108. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle flip several times on the interstate’s southbound side, tragically ejecting Amanda from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate that Amanda had been traveling northbound when her vehicle crossed the median into the southbound lanes and overturned multiple times. Investigators have not yet determined what caused her to lose control.
