The morning of October 31 brought heartbreaking news to Monticello, Georgia, as 84-year-old James Corbitt Kelly tragically lost his life in a devastating single-vehicle crash along Georgia Highway 16.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 5:30 a.m. to the crash near the Putnam-Jasper county line. Investigators reported that Kelly was driving a 2015 Ram pickup truck toward Eatonton when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned several times.
Sadly, James was the only occupant inside the truck. No other vehicles were involved, and the crash claimed his life, leaving behind a heartbreaking silence that words can hardly describe.
