Erica Lafollette Yzaguirre, 52, Tragically Killed in Texas Crash as Suspect Ruben Jaydeth Fuentes Faces Intoxication Manslaughter Charge. 💔🕊️
A heartbreaking tragedy has claimed the life of 52-year-old Erica Lafollette Yzaguirre following a devastating three-vehicle collision involving 25-year-old Ruben Jaydeth Fuentes, who has been arrested in connection with the fatal crash in Harlingen, Texas.
The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2026, on Dixieland Road, just west of Rangerville Road.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Fuentes was driving a black GMC Sierra pickup westbound on the wrong side of the road when it collided with a white Ford Explorer carrying four occupants. A third vehicle, a white Buick Encore, was also involved after its driver attempted to avoid the collision.
All four occupants of the Ford Explorer were transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center, where Erica tragically succumbed to her injuries.
Fuentes, a Harlingen resident, was arrested and faces one count of intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle. He is being held at the Cameron County Jail.
