MICHAEL ALEXANDER, JR., 36, KILLED IN TRAGIC MOTORCYCLE CRASH IN MARYLAND.
Some goodbyes arrive without warning, leaving behind broken hearts and memories that will never fade. Today, we remember Michael Alexander, Jr., 36, of Bryans Road, Maryland, who served his country on active duty with the DC National Guard, and whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating motorcycle crash Thursday evening in Charles County. He was more than a name in a heartbreaking headline; he was a man who proudly served his country and whose absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved him. His service and sacrifice deserve to be remembered with honor.
According to Maryland State Police, the fatal collision occurred around 10:34 p.m. at Maryland Route 228 and Greenwood Drive in Waldorf. Michael was riding a Suzuki motorcycle westbound when it collided with a Ford Taurus attempting to turn left from the eastbound lanes onto Greenwood Drive.
The force of the impact sent the Ford onto Greenwood Drive, where it struck a Toyota Highlander parked in a residential driveway before crashing into a nearby home. The Ford’s driver sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Police believe excessive speed may have contributed to the crash.
Behind this tragedy is a life that mattered, a future that will never unfold, and memories that will forever remain precious. At just 36, Michael had so much more life ahead of him. His journey ended far too soon, leaving a void that words cannot adequately describe.
As the investigation continues, our hearts go out to his family, friends, fellow service members, and everyone mourning his loss.
Thank you, Michael, for your service to this country. Your dedication will not be forgotten. May you rest peacefully. Gone too soon, forever remembered.
