A Beautiful Young Life Gone Too Soon at Just 19.

With hearts heavy with sorrow, we remember Hazel Krauss, a 19-year-old young woman whose life was tragically cut short on Saturday night, October 24, 2026, in a fatal pedestrian crash near the 2300 block of West University Avenue in Gainesville, Florida. At approximately 11:33 p.m., a vehicle traveling eastbound swerved to avoid another vehicle, striking Hazel as she crossed the roadway before colliding with the other vehicle. A nurse at the scene tried to help her until emergency medical services arrived. Hazel was rushed to UF Health Shands Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries.

Nineteen years is far too young for a life to end. At an age when dreams are still unfolding, possibilities seem endless, and the future holds so much promise, Hazel’s journey came to a heartbreaking end. Her passing is a painful reminder of how suddenly life can change and how precious every moment truly is.

Behind her name is a life that mattered, a young woman whose absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved her. Though words cannot erase the pain of such an unexpected loss, may the memories Hazel leaves behind bring comfort to the hearts now struggling to understand this tragedy.

As her family and loved ones navigate this devastating chapter, may they find strength in one another and peace in the love that will forever connect them to Hazel.

The Gainesville Police Department continues to investigate the crash, with further information expected as it becomes available.

🕊️ Rest peacefully, Hazel Krauss. Your time here was heartbreakingly brief, but your memory deserves to live on. May your name forever be spoken with love, and may you never be forgotten. 🕊️
