With heavy hearts, we remember Lacorey J. Burton, 35, of Cheriton, Virginia, whose life came to a tragic end in a devastating single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, October 24, 2026, on southbound Route 13 in Northampton County, Virginia.
According to Virginia State Police, the heartbreaking incident occurred around 4:44 a.m. near Sylvan Scene Drive. The 2014 Ford Taurus Burton was driving reportedly left the roadway and entered a ditch before striking a highway sign and a culvert, causing the vehicle to become airborne. Burton was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Some losses arrive so unexpectedly that the heart struggles to understand what has happened. In the wake of such a tragedy, ordinary moments can suddenly become treasured memories, and the future that once seemed full of possibilities can feel painfully distant.
