Nicholas Daley Death, Obituary: Nicholas Daley, 35, Killed in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash on I-24/I-59 Split

A 35-year-old motorcyclist from Murfreesboro has died following a hit-and-run crash at the I-24 west and I-59 south split, according to authorities.

Georgia State Patrol troopers responded just before 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, after reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle on the interstate.

Investigators determined that a red or brown sedan struck the right side of the motorcycle, forcing it off the roadway and onto the left shoulder and median. After the impact, the driver of the sedan continued westbound on I-24 without stopping.

The motorcyclist, identified as Nicholas Daley, 35, subsequently struck the end of a guardrail and crashed.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and provided immediate aid before transporting Daley to a nearby hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by medical staff, he was later pronounced deceased.

The crash led to significant traffic disruptions, with multiple lanes shut down as first responders worked the scene. The closure caused major delays and congestion across state lines during the evening hours.

Authorities have not yet released a description of the suspect vehicle beyond it being a red or brown sedan. Troopers continue to investigate the hit-and-run and are working to identify and locate the driver responsible.

Anyone with information related to the crash is urged to contact Georgia State Patrol as the investigation remains ongoing.
