According to Maine State Police, Sharon was last seen around 8:30 p.m. Saturday after leaving a family gathering in Jonesboro with Kinsley and Sawyer. The three were traveling toward Machias when their journey ended in circumstances that remain under investigation.

Authorities worked through the night to locate them. Cellphone information eventually led investigators to the waters near the boat ramp at the end of Schoppee Point Road. Around 7 a.m. Sunday, members of the Maine Marine Patrol and Maine State Police Dive Team located the vehicle beneath the water.

The recovery brought a devastating end to a desperate search. Sharon and her two grandchildren were recovered from the submerged vehicle and transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. Autopsies are expected to help determine the cause and manner of death.

According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, McCrary was shot while inside a vehicle in the 2300 block of Pio Nono Avenue at approximately 2:50 p.m. Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and immediately began rendering aid before firefighters and paramedics arrived.

Jeremiah was transported to Atrium Health Navicent, where, despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at 3:16 p.m.

He was only 21.
