A TRAGIC SOUTH CAROLINA CRASH CLAIMS THE LIFE OF A BELOVED 74-YEAR-OLD MAN.

At 74, David McElroy of Mars Hill, North Carolina, has passed away following a tragic three-vehicle collision in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, on Sunday morning, October 18, 2026.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the devastating crash occurred around 8 a.m. near Exit 80 on Interstate 85, at the junction with Gossett Road. Authorities reported that McElroy was driving a 2024 Ford Maverick pickup truck eastbound from the interstate exit when the vehicle crossed Gossett Road and entered the northbound lane, colliding with a 2020 Toyota RAV4 and an enclosed trailer being towed by a 2023 Ford F-250. David was transported to a local hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Two other people, including a passenger in the pickup and the driver of the Toyota, were also injured and taken to a hospital. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
