With profound sadness, we remember 95-year-old Guadalupe Almendarez, whose life came to a heartbreaking end following a three-vehicle chain-reaction crash near 18th Street and Damen Avenue on Chicago’s Near West Side. The tragic collision occurred around 5:16 p.m., when the gray sedan in which Guadalupe was a passenger struck the rear of a black truck stopped at a red light, causing the truck to collide with another vehicle. Guadalupe suffered severe traumatic injuries and was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where she was tragically pronounced dead.
Ninety-five years represents a lifetime of memories, experiences, lessons, and moments that can never truly be measured. It is a journey filled with chapters, each carrying its own stories, joys, struggles, and precious memories. Yet, even after so many years, the loss of a life remains a sorrow that words can scarcely express. Every soul leaves behind a story that deserves to be remembered with dignity and compassion.
