On Wednesday afternoon, a devastating head-on collision near Claude in Armstrong County, Texas, claimed the lives of Gustavo Adrian Avila Villalobos, 37, of Providence Village, Texas, and Jose Gomez Palomares, 41, of Davenport, Florida. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 3 p.m. on State Highway 207. Authorities reported that a southbound Dodge Ram 1500, driven by 40-year-old Sergio Hernandez of Amarillo, hydroplaned while traveling at a speed unsafe for the road conditions. The truck crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with the Hyundai Elantra carrying Gustavo and Jose. Tragically, neither man survived.
