With hearts heavy with sorrow, we remember Cabot Pitts, 42, of Palmer, Alaska, and Connor Helsel, 18, of Michigan, whose lives were tragically taken in a plane crash in the breathtaking but unforgiving Wrangell Mountains of Alaska.
On Thursday evening, their Piper Cub crashed shortly after taking off from a dirt airstrip near Snag Creek, close to the small community of Nabesna. In the quiet of the mountains, a journey that had begun in the sky ended in unimaginable heartbreak. Behind this tragedy are families now facing the pain of an empty chair, a missing voice, and memories that will forever carry both love and longing.
