Remembering Martine Decarr and Drew R. Harm. 🕊️💔
Some losses are difficult to put into words. Some days arrive quietly, yet leave behind a silence that feels impossibly loud. Today, we remember Martine Decarr, 68, and Drew R. Harm, 60, both of Brushton, whose lives came to a heartbreaking end at a Hill Street residence.
According to state police, the two were found deceased Wednesday, and autopsies later determined that one death was a homicide while the other was ruled a suicide. Behind those heartbreaking facts were two human beings who had lived, loved, experienced moments of joy, carried their own struggles, and left memories that will remain with those who knew them.
Martine and Drew were more than names in a report. They were part of a community. They were someone’s friend, someone’s neighbor, someone remembered for a smile, a conversation, a familiar presence, or a moment that may have seemed ordinary at the time but now means everything.
When a life is lost, the world does not simply move on as though nothing happened. A chair may remain empty. A familiar voice may no longer be heard. Memories suddenly become precious treasures, holding pieces of yesterday that can never be lived again.
