The world is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Matt Kimbrel, 36, a former Atlanta Braves minor league pitcher and the brother of longtime Major League Baseball closer Craig Kimbrel, whose life was tragically cut short following a motorcycle crash in Huntsville, Alabama.
According to the Huntsville Police Department, the fatal collision happened Saturday morning as Matt was riding north on U.S. Highway 431. A dump truck was turning onto Cove Commons Drive when, according to investigators, Matt approached the area at a high rate of speed. Police said he was unable to stop in time, lost control of his motorcycle, and slid into the dump truck. He suffered fatal injuries in the devastating collision.
