LaKendrick Jamari Banks — A Young Life Taken Far Too Soon.
Fifteen-year-old LaKendrick Jamari Banks was taken from this world far too soon, leaving behind a silence that no words can truly fill. On Friday evening, September 18, 2026, tragedy struck Macon’s Unionville community when LaKendrick was found unresponsive after a shooting on the 600 block of Grosso Avenue.
Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly before 5:00 p.m. and discovered the young teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the heartbreaking circumstances, nothing can change the painful truth that a young life filled with possibilities has been suddenly and tragically cut short. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones confirmed that Deputy Coroner Luann Stone pronounced LaKendrick dead at the scene.
At only 15 years old, LaKendrick had so much life still waiting ahead of him—dreams yet to be chased, memories yet to be made, and countless tomorrows that will now remain unwritten. A young soul should have been looking toward the future, not leaving this world before his story had the chance to unfold.
