IN LOVING MEMORY: JADA MAY STRONGMAMA WATTS, 30, GONE TOO SOON IN A TRAGIC SHOOTING THAT HAS LEFT HEARTS SHATTERED.
Some losses are simply too painful for words, and some lives leave behind a light that even death cannot completely extinguish. Today, we remember Jada S. Watts, affectionately known as Jada May StrongMama Watts, 30, of Columbia, South Carolina, whose life was tragically cut short in a shooting early Saturday morning in Richland County. A young woman with dreams still unfolding, ambitions within reach, and so much life left to experience, Jada’s unexpected passing has left loved ones and those who knew her struggling to comprehend this heartbreaking loss.
Jada had only recently celebrated her 30th birthday. According to a heartfelt tribute shared by someone who knew her, she was full of light at work, carrying a beautiful spirit that made her presence memorable. She was also remarkably close to completing her journey toward becoming a medical assistant, a milestone that represented her dedication, determination, and hope for a brighter future. Sadly, she will never get the opportunity to walk across that imagined finish line and celebrate the achievement she had worked so hard to accomplish.
Authorities reported that deputies were called around 5 a.m. after shooting victims were discovered in the 200 block of Cricket Ridge in Lexington County. Investigators determined that the shooting had occurred on Haverford Drive in Richland County.
Jada was found unresponsive inside a vehicle with at least one gunshot wound to her upper body. Despite the emergency response, she was pronounced dead at the scene. An 11-year-old girl was also wounded and transported to a hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released.
As her family, especially her mother, Stephanie Rudolph Watts, faces this unimaginable heartbreak, thoughts and prayers remain with them and the children affected by this tragedy.
At just 30, Jada deserved more birthdays, more opportunities, more celebrations, and the chance to fulfill every dream she carried in her heart.
May her beautiful light never be forgotten, and may her family find strength in the darkest days ahead.
Rest peacefully, Jada May StrongMama Watts. Your journey ended far too soon, but your memory will forever live on. 🕊️🤍
