IN LOVING MEMORY OF EVAN DOWNEN: A LIFE OF 20 YEARS TAKEN TOO SOON IN A TRAGIC MOTORCYCLE CRASH.
💔🕊️ Some goodbyes come far too early, leaving behind heartache that words can never fully express. At just 20 years old, Evan Downen of Oriskany Falls, New York, has sadly lost his life following a devastating motorcycle crash in the Town of Sangerfield on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the heartbreaking collision happened at approximately 1:10 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 20 and Madison Street. Evan was traveling westbound on his motorcycle when it was struck by a passenger vehicle driven by 68-year-old Kenneth Northrop of Waterville, who was attempting to cross the highway toward Newberry Road.
The impact threw Evan from his motorcycle, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders rushed to his aid, and he was airlifted by Mercy Flight to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Despite the courageous efforts of medical professionals to save his life, Evan sadly succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
Twenty years is far too young for a life to end. There were still dreams waiting to unfold, beautiful memories yet to be created, and countless possibilities that tomorrow should have brought. His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how suddenly life can change.
Although Evan’s journey on earth has ended, his memory deserves to live on through every life he touched and every moment he shared with those around him.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may everyone grieving his loss find strength and comfort during this painful time.
Forever 20, forever remembered, and never forgotten. 🕊️💔
