Nemanja Ljepojevic, 35, and Davor Barisic, 44, Gone Too Soon in a Heartbreaking Monroe Collision.
With heavy hearts, we remember Nemanja Ljepojevic, 35, and Davor Barisic, 44, both of Indian Trail, whose lives were tragically cut short in a devastating collision on Old Charlotte Highway near Rogers Road in Monroe, North Carolina. Shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, a Chevrolet Silverado reportedly left the roadway and struck multiple trees, claiming the lives of two men and leaving another fighting for his life.
Nemanja and Davor were pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a silence that words can never fully explain. Three men were inside the vehicle when the heartbreaking crash occurred. The driver survived but was airlifted to a Charlotte-area hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
In a single, devastating moment, lives were changed forever. Two precious lives were lost, and the world became a little quieter for those who knew and loved them. Behind their names were stories, memories, dreams, and moments that can never be replaced. Their passing is a painful reminder of how fragile life can be and how quickly an ordinary night can become an unimaginable tragedy.
As the Monroe Police Department’s Traffic Division continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, loved ones and the community are left to mourn this heartbreaking loss.
