A Young Firefighter Gone Too Soon, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Courage and Sacrifice. 🕊️💔
With hearts heavy with sorrow, we remember Ashtain Noel Davis, 28, of Petersburg, Virginia, a dedicated Henrico County firefighter who tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run crash on September 25, 2026, in Richmond. Arron Moss, 31, of Richmond, was arrested on October 16 in connection with the case. The fatal collision occurred on the ramp from westbound Interstate 64 to southbound Interstate 95, leaving behind heartbreak and a community mourning a life taken far too soon.
Davis was riding his 2025 Harley-Davidson motorcycle between approximately 11:20 and 11:27 p.m. when a dark-colored SUV struck him, throwing him from his motorcycle. Despite wearing a helmet, he tragically died at the scene. The driver reportedly fled, leaving investigators searching for answers.
Ashtain had joined the fire service in 2025 and proudly completed Recruit Academy 86 in July. He had chosen a life of courage, compassion, and service, dedicating himself to protecting others. His career was just beginning, and the future held so much promise.
Moss has been charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, a Class 6 felony. Authorities have indicated that additional indictments, including a charge under Virginia’s hit-and-run statute, may follow. The investigation remains ongoing, and the case continues through the legal process.
Though Ashtain’s time on earth was painfully brief, his dedication and service will not be forgotten. Behind his uniform was a young man whose life mattered deeply and whose future deserved countless more chapters.
May his loved ones find strength in treasured memories, and may his legacy continue to inspire those who serve.
Rest peacefully, Firefighter Ashtain Noel Davis. Your courage will be remembered, your service honored, and your light never forgotten. 🕊️💔
