With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we remember Kathy D. Tennyson, 69, of Somerville, Alabama, whose life was tragically taken following a devastating single-vehicle crash in Morgan County on Sunday evening, September 20, 2026.

Kathy was traveling along Alabama 36 near the 24-mile marker, approximately one mile east of Hartselle, when her vehicle left the roadway, struck a mailbox, and collided with a culvert headwall. Although she was rushed to an emergency room for treatment, the injuries she suffered were ultimately too severe, and she sadly passed away.

Her sudden departure leaves behind a silence that words cannot easily fill. A life that held countless memories, conversations, smiles, hopes and moments with family and friends has been changed forever. For those who loved Kathy, the pain of losing her may be difficult to express, but so too is the beauty of the memories she leaves behind.

A 10-year-old child who was also traveling in the vehicle was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Our thoughts remain with the child and with everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.

Sometimes, a person leaves this world far sooner than anyone could have imagined. Yet love does not disappear when someone is gone. It remains in photographs, familiar places, cherished stories, quiet moments and the memories held within the hearts of those who knew them.

According to state police, the two were found deceased Wednesday, and autopsies later determined that one death was a homicide while the other was ruled a suicide. Behind those heartbreaking facts were two human beings who had lived, loved, experienced moments of joy, carried their own struggles, and left memories that will remain with those who knew them.

In the early hours of Sunday, September 20, 2026, a heartbreaking tragedy on Interstate 20 in St. Clair County, Alabama, claimed the life of Jose Daniel Hernandez Reyes, 21, of Lithia Springs, Georgia.

Jose was one of two people who had been involved in an earlier crash and had stepped from their vehicle onto the roadway. Around 12:02 a.m., tragedy struck when a 2025 Toyota Camry collided with him near the 152-mile marker within the Cook Springs area. Despite the efforts at the scene, Jose was pronounced deceased.

Another pedestrian, Jennisfer Vanessa Vasquez, 22, also of Lithia Springs, was injured in the devastating sequence of events and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.

Tonight, we remember Jose not for the tragedy that took him from this world, but for the life he lived, the memories he created, and the people whose hearts will forever carry his name. With heavy hearts, we remember 20-year-old Brock Free of Washington Court House, Ohio, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating crash in Fayette County early Sunday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened shortly before 1 a.m. on U.S. Route 62 in Union Township. Brock was traveling north in a 2023 Chevrolet Camaro when the vehicle went onto the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned several times before coming to rest in a soybean field.

Brock was thrown from the vehicle and rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries. He was later flown to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where, despite every effort to save his life, he sadly passed away.

Twenty years is far too short for a life to end. There were surely more mornings to wake up to, more dreams to chase, more laughter to share, more memories waiting to be made, and more moments that loved ones never imagined would become memories.
