Today, with profound sadness and heavy hearts, we remember Jarrod Lamar Holden, 31, whose life came to a tragic end in Albany, Georgia. His passing has left behind sorrow, unanswered questions, and hearts trying to understand a goodbye that came far too soon.

Jarrod was discovered deceased behind a former Red Lobster restaurant after authorities responded to a report of a man down. Investigators later observed circumstances that raised further questions, including an apparent injury to his head. Homicide detectives were called to the scene, and authorities continue working to determine exactly what happened. At this time, many details remain unknown.

Yet beyond the investigation, beyond the questions, and beyond the heartbreaking circumstances surrounding his final moments, there was a human life that mattered.

Jarrod was more than a name in a report. He was someone who had memories, experiences, hopes, struggles, laughter, and moments that became part of the lives of others. Their identities were released by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office on September 22.

Katie and Ben were known to each other and had shared a child. According to authorities, Katie had gone to Ben’s home on Rose Lane to drop off their child when the tragic shooting occurred. Katie died at the residence, while Ben was transported first to Southwest Health Center in Platteville and later to a Madison hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Behind these heartbreaking headlines were two human lives filled with moments, memories, relationships, and people who cared about them. Katie was a daughter, a loved one, and a mother. Ben, too, leaves behind people who knew him, loved him, and will carry memories of him in their hearts.

Erika was crossing State Highway 57 near County Road P, making her way toward a nearby parking lot, when she was struck by a vehicle. She was taken to Door County Medical Center, where she sadly passed away from her injuries.

At 83 years old, Erika had lived through eight decades of memories, moments, challenges, joys, and countless chapters that made her life uniquely her own. Her passing leaves behind a space that cannot simply be filled—a quiet absence felt by those who knew her, loved her, and treasured the time they shared with her.

Sometimes, life changes in a single heartbreaking moment. One moment there are plans for tomorrow, familiar places to go, and ordinary moments to cherish. Then suddenly, everything becomes a memory.

John Lang, 37, of Paynesville, and Judith Jones, 80, of Litchfield, were involved in a serious two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Swede Grove Township, a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an ordinary journey can change in an instant.

The collision happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 4 and Meeker County Road 16, north of Grove City. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Lang was traveling southbound on Highway 4 while Jones was traveling northbound when their vehicles collided at the intersection. (AM 1240 WJON)

Both John and Judith were transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital for treatment. Thankfully, their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, offering a precious measure of hope amid a frightening and unexpected morning. (AM 1240 WJON)

Hunter was only twelve years old—a child with so much life still waiting to unfold. There should have been countless more birthdays, laughter shared with family and friends, school memories, dreams to chase, and beautiful moments yet to be written. Instead, those who loved him are left with memories, photographs, and a silence that can never truly replace his presence.

According to South Charleston Police, Hunter was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue, also known as U.S. 60, and Rock Lake Drive. He was taken to a local hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he sadly passed away. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and have reviewed surveillance video as part of their investigation.

His passing has also touched the school community. Kanawha County Schools announced that grief counselors would be available to support students as they cope with the devastating news.

According to the South Charleston Police Department, Roy and Alison were identified as the two people who lost their lives in the collision. In an instant, families were left facing a pain no words can truly describe.

Roy and Alison were more than names in a tragic report. They were cherished human beings, loved by family and friends, connected to people and memories that can never be replaced. Each had a story, a lifetime of moments, smiles, conversations, dreams, and relationships that mattered deeply.
