At approximately 2:03 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to the Salt Water Barrier in the 6700 block of Bigner in connection with a large disturbance. As officers made their way to the area, dispatch reported several vehicles leaving at a high rate of speed. During the incident, one vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into a parked flatbed trailer.

Alyssa, who was riding in the front passenger seat, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was transported to a Houston-area hospital in critical condition. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking crash.

Today, we pause to remember Alyssa not simply as a name in a report, but as a young woman whose life held dreams, memories, laughter, love, and moments that mattered. Twenty-one years is far too short for a story to end.

The devastating collision happened around 9 p.m. at East 14th Street and First Avenue, near Stuyvesant Town. According to the NYPD, Daria was riding a bicycle with another 16-year-old girl when they collided with a commercial truck as both bicycles were turning north onto First Avenue. The other teenager was injured and taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue for treatment.

Police said the truck, a 2021 Peterbilt driven by a 58-year-old man, was also making a right turn when the tragic crash occurred.

Behind every heartbreaking headline is a life that mattered—a daughter, a friend, a beloved young person with hopes, laughter, memories, and a future that should have stretched far beyond this painful night. When they arrived, Jamarius was found lying in a driveway with a single gunshot wound. First responders from Cleveland County EMS and Shelby Fire & Rescue immediately worked to save his life, but despite their courageous efforts, Jamarius sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

His passing leaves behind a silence that words can never truly fill. Nineteen years is far too short for a life to end, far too soon for dreams to remain unfinished and memories to become the greatest treasures left behind.

Jamarius was more than a name in a tragic report. He was a son, a friend, a loved one, and a young soul whose presence mattered to those who knew him. Though his journey was suddenly cut short, the moments he shared with others will continue to live in their hearts.
