Rountrey of Concord, Virginia, tragically lost his life in a devastating single-vehicle crash on East Ferry Road near Elliot Road in Campbell County. At approximately 11:08 p.m., the 2009 Subaru Impreza he was driving ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. Bruce was pronounced deceased at the scene, leaving behind a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile and precious life truly is.

Eighteen years old—a time when life should be opening its doors to endless possibilities, beautiful discoveries, cherished friendships, and dreams waiting to become reality. Bruce’s journey ended far too soon, before so many chapters of his story could be written and countless memories could be made.

There is something especially heartbreaking about a young life lost so unexpectedly. One moment, the future holds promise; the next, an unimaginable silence takes its place. Though the full circumstances surrounding this tragedy remain under investigation by Virginia State Police, the loss of a young life is a sorrow that words can scarcely express.

Bruce’s passing is a solemn reminder to cherish every moment, hold our loved ones a little closer, and never take tomorrow for granted. His time on earth may have been brief, but his life deserves to be remembered with dignity, compassion, and love.

May his memory remain a gentle light in the hearts of those who knew him, and may everyone grieving this heartbreaking loss find strength and comfort in the days ahead.

Rest peacefully, Bruce A.
