Nicholas Peters, 34, of Eagle River, Alaska, and John \u201cJack\u201d Ervin, 50, of Missouri, were aboard a Cessna 185 that crashed after taking off from a moose camp near Aniak on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to Alaska State Troopers, difficult weather conditions prevented authorities from immediately reaching the remote crash site. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, with an investigator traveling to Bethel before continuing to the site when weather conditions allow.<\/p>\n
For those who knew Nicholas, this loss reaches far beyond the headlines. Nick was the owner and pilot of Nick\u2019s Air Service, an air taxi business based at Birchwood Airport in Chugiak.
