💔🕊️ Nineteen years old — an age when life should be opening its doors, dreams should be taking shape, and the future should be filled with endless possibilities. Yet, heartbreakingly, Carlos Brumfield will never get the opportunity to experience all the beautiful moments that life still had waiting for him.

Carlos, 19, has been identified by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office as the young man who was fatally shot at a convenience store in Scotlandville, Louisiana. His tragic death has left another family grieving an unimaginable loss and a community confronting the painful reality of gun violence.

Behind his name is a life that mattered, a family that loved him, and people whose hearts will forever carry his memory. There were years he was supposed to live, milestones he was supposed to celebrate, and countless opportunities he deserved to embrace. In a single heartbreaking tragedy, those possibilities were taken away.

For the Scotlandville community, this loss is another painful reminder that young lives deserve protection, hope, and opportunities, not violence. No family should ever have to bury a child whose journey through life had barely begun.

Today, our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Carlos Brumfield’s family, friends, and everyone mourning his passing. May they find strength in the memories they shared and comfort in the love that will never disappear.

Nineteen years was not enough, Carlos. Your life mattered, and your absence will be deeply felt.

Rest peacefully, Carlos Brumfield. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. 🕊️💔
