With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we remember Geoffrey Berus, 57, of Wellford, South Carolina, whose life was tragically cut short Thursday evening, October 29, 2026, after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his electric bicycle on Campground Road near Knightsridge Road in Spartanburg County.

What began as an ordinary Thursday evening became a heartbreaking tragedy that no family should ever have to endure. Following the collision, Geoffrey was rushed by emergency medical services to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where medical professionals worked to provide care. Sadly, despite those efforts, he did not survive. The Coroner’s Office was notified shortly after 8:20 p.m.

At 57, Geoffrey still had a life story filled with memories, experiences, and moments that deserved to continue unfolding. His passing leaves behind an emptiness that words can hardly describe. For those who knew and loved him, the pain of losing someone so suddenly is a burden that time alone may never fully erase.

Behind every tragic headline is a human being, a family, and a lifetime of memories that deserve to be remembered. Geoffrey was more than the victim of a collision; he was a person whose life mattered and whose memory deserves to live on.

As the South Carolina Highway Patrol continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, our thoughts are with everyone grieving this devastating loss.

Rest peacefully, Geoffrey Berus. May your memory remain a beautiful light in the hearts of those who will forever miss you. 🕊️
