The Fulton County Medical Examiner determined that Colby died from blunt force injuries, while his family told reporters that he had been beaten to death.<\/p>\n
Colby\u2019s body was discovered Monday night inside an empty home on Cardinal Drive in Atlanta after authorities received a request to conduct a welfare check. What should have been a safe and loving world for a little boy became the setting of a tragedy that no child should ever have to experience.<\/p>\n
Even more devastating are reports concerning Colby\u2019s brother, Caydan, who was also allegedly beaten and is receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Augusta. Jasmaine Smoak, who is not the boys\u2019 mother, was arrested by the Wilkes County Sheriff\u2019s Office and is being held in Wilkes County.
