On Monday morning, October 26, 2026, 29-year-old Logan Rickert, from the Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, area, tragically lost his life after being struck by a tractor-trailer while stopping to help another motorist on eastbound Interstate 80 in Valley Township, Montour County, Pennsylvania.

At approximately 5:54 a.m., Logan stepped out of his pickup truck to assist a motorist whose vehicle had been involved in an earlier collision. In a moment when someone needed help, Logan chose compassion. Sadly, another tractor-trailer left the roadway for reasons still under investigation and struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

💔 A HEART THAT CHOSE KINDNESS

Logan’s final moments tell a heartbreaking story of selflessness. He stopped not because he had to, but because another person needed assistance. In a world where people sometimes pass by the struggles of others, he chose to make a difference.

Tragically, that simple act of humanity became his final act on earth. A morning that began like any other turned into a day of unimaginable sorrow for those who knew and loved him.

🕊️ GONE TOO SOON, NEVER FORGOTTEN

At just 29, Logan had so much life still ahead of him. His passing leaves behind questions, grief, and a painful reminder of how suddenly life can change.

The Montour County Coroner’s Office and Pennsylvania State Police at Milton continue investigating the crash, with an autopsy pending.

May Logan Rickert’s memory forever represent courage, compassion, and the beautiful instinct to help another human being. May his loved ones find strength in this devastating time.

Rest peacefully, Logan.
